Ralph Waldo Emerson states so eloquently, “It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” Jesus was the ultimate volunteer teaching us that by giving all of himself; we could live in grace.
At St. James’, we provide opportunities to serve and lead in various ministries allowing people to achieve their higher purpose.

Volunteers (or Servant Leaders) are at the heart of the growth and operation of our church. Because of volunteers assisting in so many facets, our church can remain viable and accessible to today’s diverse community. In addition, by utilizing volunteers and supporting our mission of igniting passion for Jesus Christ to change lives, we are a closer parish family.

The office of volunteer services assists parishioners in discovering talents and spiritual gifts, matches individuals with ministry options that best fit each talent, and showcases the positive outcomes to the entire church community. Though still in development, this department strives to become the resource hub where parishioners of all ages and talents come to fill ministries large and small found both within the walls of St. James’ and in the community at large.
Together we all can make a difference and serve Jesus actively fulfilling our purpose.
