Outrageous Justice Program Returns in the Fall
In May 2022, Ellen Kulik and Cindy Bright facilitated a book study/discussion group using the Outrageous Justice program which was created by Prison Fellowship. It was an eye opening, yet balanced, look at life in American Prisons, the recent history and struggles of our criminal justice system and how St. James may be called to respond to it. The 10 parishioners who participated in the study had a favorable experience and suggested that it be repeated this fall. One wrote:
“The statistics about incarceration rates are staggering by themselves but, when coupled with the personal stories and videos in the Outrageous Justice series, I had a clearer understanding of the challenges facing both our society and incarcerated individuals.”
If you want to learn more about the US criminal justice system from people on the inside, join us for 6 Monday evenings from September 19-October 24th from 6:30-7:30pm. Sign up by contacting Michael Larkin at the parish office.
If you are interested in joining the group, notify the Parish Office and pick up the book and study guide. Parish Office Hours Monday-Thursday 8am-1pm/315.685.7600.
